Sgt. Cull has been a member of the Bexley Police Department for 31 years, recently returning to patrol duty after six years as the Detective Sergeant. He is currently assigned to 2nd shift patrol where he continues to provide outstanding police service to the citizens of Bexley.
During his thirty-one years of service with the Bexley Police Department, Sgt. Cull has received six Department Commendation Awards with ribbon for achievement above and beyond the call of duty, two Department Merit Awards, one Letter of Commendation for his work on a bank robbery case, one Department Life Saving Award and one Mayor's Special Commendation Award. Most of the Departmental awards were for Sgt. Cull's work on criminal cases or arrests of suspects out of robberies, assaults, etc. The Life Saving Award and Mayor's Commendation were for the Sgt. Cull’s efforts in evacuating elderly and disabled persons from a smoke-filled apartment building during a fire.
Sgt. Cull has also been the recipient of numerous unsolicited citizen compliments for his service throughout the years, and in 2005 was nominated by residents for the Police Officer of the Year Award. Sgt. Cull works every Bexley function (4th of July, etc.) and seemingly every dance and sporting event at the schools. He knows by name almost every child, and their parents, who have passed through the school in the past 20 years. Sgt. Cull graduated from St. Charles Preparatory School, served in the Navy and graduated from OSU. He and his family live in Bexley. |
