Carol graduated from Bexley in 1962. Later that year she married Roger. They have been married for 41 years and live in the Lancaster, Ohio area. They have two daughters, Wendy and Kelly, and four grandchildren. Ryan, 19, and Jessica, 15, both live here in Columbus. Logan, 8, and McCoy, 6, are currently living in Colombia, South America, where their parents are both employed at The Columbus School in Medellin.

Carol was a national accounts officer for National City Bank, retiring in 1999 after 34 years’ service. Since that time, she has kept busy volunteering at both the Frebis Avenue and Lancaster LSS food pantries. She also delivers Meals on Wheels and regularly helps pick up food at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank and bread at Kroger for delivery to the Lancaster pantry. She is active in her church, singing in the choir and currently serving on the Stewardship and Fellowship committees and as chairman of the church pictorial directory committee. She was recently elected to the position of Financial Director of the Fairfield County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Carol has been active in the Alumni Association since her mother, Janice Sims Miley, class of 1934 and also a Distinguished Alumni recipient, encouraged her participation in 1988. She has served as Membership Chairman continuously since 1990, seeing the alumni database grow from a card file listing of a couple thousand graduates’ names to a computerized database of over 12,000 names today. During this time, she has also served as Assistant Treasurer, Vice President and President and is currently the Treasurer and Newsletter Editor as well.

Carol was responsible for developing and continues to maintain the alumni website with the assistance of her son-in-law, who serves as webmaster. They’ve overcome some interesting obstacles as he continues to serve in this capacity even though he has been living in Colombia for the last six months and will remain there until June 2005.
