Earl Focht Earl was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio.
He attended Dayton Belmont H.S., graduating in the class of
1966. He went on to
receive his bachelor’s degree from Capital University in 1970
and his masters from OSU in 1973. Earl and his family have lived in Bexley for 17 years.
He says he chose Bexley because he became familiar with the
city while attending Cap and he knew of the outstanding reputation
of Bexley academics. His
three daughters are all Bexley grads. Earl came to Bexley
H.S. as the football coach in 1975 and
taught physical education, drivers’ ed., and he initiated the
speech program for freshmen and taught the class until 1982. He became the assistant principal of the high school in 1982,
replacing Terry Black. In
1997 he was named principal. Earl is active in Christ Lutheran Church where he serves on the church council and as an usher. He also serves on CASA, the Capital University campaign for athletic facilities and all of the Bexley Schools’ facilities task forces. |
