These were taken from a wonderful brochure featuring the work of Dean Browne, class of 1941Dean Browne has been a woodcarver for over 40 years. The subjects of his carvings are drawn from his many years as a yachtsman and a lifetime of hunting and fishing.

His carvings range from all  types of wading birds to giant whales to small brook trout. Browne is a member of the super-realist school. His works are wood sculptures that use the character of the wood and pigments to express the essence of his subjects.

In recent years he has offered a unique kind of trophy for the catch and release fishermen. Using measurements, descriptions, and if possible photos, he custom carves and paints a life size replica of each catch. Dean has sold carvings in over 35 states, Europe, and the Far East and produces approximately 100 pieces each year, all signed and numbered.

Commissioned orders for most any subject welcomed.
