Miami staff has definite local influence
Ryan
Pedon, a 2000 Wooster graduate who spent the next two years at Miami as
an administrative assistant, has been hired as assistant basketball
coach at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Pedon left his position as director of basketball operations at Kent
State to return to Miami as the No. 3 assistant.
“I know it sounds corny, but this really is a special place,” Pedon
said. “I always wanted to come back here. I kept in close contact with
all those guys, waiting for something to open.”
Head coach, Charlie Coles, a 1965 graduate of Miami, welcomed the
opportunity to mentor another bright young assistant.
“Ryan quickly became a valued member of our staff when he was here
before,” Coles said. “He made a great impression on not only the
basketball staff but the athletic department as a whole. He has always
wanted to come back to Miami, and we have always wanted to bring him
back.”
