FEATURES Bexley state soccer champs honored

A little rain couldn't dampen the spirits of players and coaches of the Bexley High Lions soccer team, who took part in a parade and trophy presentation Nov. 15 to recognize their state championship. The team went 22-1 through the season, including a 22-game winning streak, capped with the final win against Chagrin Falls to capture the state title. This is the first state championship for a Bexley team since 1983. The girls soccer team also took part in the parade for earning a regional championship. The soccer team will be recognized by Bexley City Council Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
