Bexley Achieves High Mark Among Small Towns, Cities

Bexley received a five-star rating in the annual statistical handbook America's Top-Rated Small Towns & Cities, released this year. The two-volume book pulls together profiles of 8,908 places in the United States with populations between 3,000 and 25,000. It lists statistical details such as population, income, housing and education, among others.

Only 40 of 331 places in Ohio, including Bexley, are rated with five stars in the edition. The book shows Bexley ranks highest when compared to other places in education. About 97 percent of residents have earned a high school diploma, the 11th highest of 331 Ohio places profiled. Two-thirds of residents have a bachelor's degree or higher and 31.8 percent of residents have a master's degree or higher. The city's student-teacher ratio is 14.8:1, which put it at 206 of 233 where the higher the ranking number, the better.
