In-The-Know Team Takes WOSU Tournament
Bexley's In-the-Know
academic quiz team has bested 64 teams from Central Ohio high schools to
win the WOSU-TV tournament. WOSU's sponsor, Westfield Insurance, awarded
the team a check for $7,000 with members also earning four $2,000
scholarships to Ohio State University for the 2011-12 academic year,
according to team adviser Mike Nolan.
On Feb 24, ITK beat Mt. Vernon High School 505 - 500 in a rousing
semifinal match at the WOSU-TV studios at COSI Columbus, before going on
to defeat Dublin Scioto High School in the finals. The final score was
320 to 295, the lowest scoring match of the season for either team. "The
questions were impossible," noted Mr. Nolan.
Bexley's In-the-Know team has also earned at least a share of the
Northeast ITK League title for the third year in a row.
