Following graduation from BHS, Marc graduated cum laude in 1968 from Princeton University with an A.B. in public and international affairs. He was a Rhodes Scholar, graduating from Oxford University in 1971 with an M.Phil. in economics. In 1973 he graduated with a J.D. cum laude from Harvard University.

Professionally, Marc has served as assistant counsel on the Senate Watergate Committee, deputy chief counsel of the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, staff director and chief counsel of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on  Telecommunications, Consumer Protection and Finance, executive vice president of the Public Securities Association and is presently president of the Securities Industry Association. He has been a member of the Washington D.C. Bar Association since 1975 and was recently honored by the Chicago Stock Exchange as Executive of the Year.

Marc and his wife, the former Mary B. DeOreo, have three children: Anne(21), Katie(19) and Sarah(16).
