Robert I. Weiler, class of 1953

A graduate of the University of Arizona with honors, Bob received a Masters Degree from OSU in real estate in 1964 and a Doctorate Degree in Finance in 1968. In 1983, he was awarded a Juris Doctorate Degree from Capital University Law School and was admitted to the Ohio Bar that year. 

Bob has been a realtor since 1957, has been a full time real estate appraiser since 1959 and has been a real estate consultant since 1970. He is Chairman of the Board of The Robert Weiler Company, which is in its 60th year of developing, appraising and selling real estate. Bob is a developer of numerous subdivisions and apartment/office/industrial complexes in Central Ohio. He is an adjunct professor at Capital University Law School and is a contributing editor of The Appraisal of Real Estate.  

Bob’s achievements include: director and past president of the Columbus Board of Realtors; past president of Ohio Chapter #3 of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers; member of the Capital University board of trustees; 1987 president and past member of the Columbus Board of Education; member of the board of directors of the Metropolitan YMCA; and a member of the board of trustees of the Center of Science and Industry. 

Bob says he gets the most pleasure from helping someone in need. The real joy he gets out of life is from his family, friends and making a difference in helping others. He applied that philosophy is his position as campaign chairman of the 1998 United Way of Franklin County. He has served as a founder and president of the I Know I Can Board. 

Bob married Missy in 1957. They have four married children and nine grandchildren.
