Katharine Sharp
Ingalls – Columbus OH
I have lived at
Kensington Place for 14 years and have enjoyed meeting so many
wonderful people of my generation. This year our family is looking
forward with joy to the wedding of my granddaughter, Betsy Buckham,
to Seth Neyland-Smith of St. Louis MO.

Doris James Woodward –
Davidson NC
At the tender age of
92 I’m still able to get around. I live in a beautiful retirement
home. There are 12 people from Ohio here and we meet once a month.
Always wondered what happened to Richard Dick. Would love to hear
from someone from Bexley. Much love to all!

Back in the 30s the boys wore knickers. But as they grew a little,
not quite ready for high school, they changed into long pants.
Richard Dick’s mother kept him in knickers until she finally gave up
and Richard came to school, so proud, with his long slacks. :o)

I am 91 and still
living at The Pines. It’s the most beautiful spot in the state.
Not too many of my friends are still living. Marien Abshire Beukema
is still in Ohio.

Doris James
Woodward – Davidson NC
Have lived at The
Pines, a beautiful retirement community, for almost nine years. Had
a wonderful 90th party in February, given by my family of 34.
Davidson, a small quiet neighborhood, reminds me of my growing-up
days in Bexley. Would like to hear from someone in the class of
1935.

Doris James Woodward –
Davidson NC
Going to celebrate my
90th birthday here at the Pines with my family and hopefully many
friends. Have been down south for 60 years but think of Bexley,
Ohio many times, remembering Coach Smith who almost flunked me in
Chemistry.

Doris James Woodward –
Davidson NC
Living in a beautiful
retirement complex in this college town. Received a letter from
Richard Dick ’35 and hope he is still “hanging in there.” Also,
remember the three alumni living in Friendship Village. I’m so glad
to have had my early education in the Bexley schools.

Mary Ruth Schuh
Stauffer – Downey CA
I enjoyed reading the
Winter 2006 newsletter. It brought back some fond memories. It was
a shock to realize the dwindling numbers and limited activities of
the 1935 class. The same is true here. There is no peer pressure.
I retired from the practice of medicine as an M.D. in 1997. Since
that time I have devoted myself to running the Mary R Stauffer
Foundation that I started in 1992. I started my own foundation with
the thought that I could do a better job in my community than the
government or the National non-profits could. I have started and
funded many programs in Downey. For those interested, consult my
Web site
www.maryrstaufferfoundation.com. I am active in the local
Lutheran church, Assistance League of Downey, Rotary, P.E.O.,
Aerospace Legacy Society, RLC, Rancho Los Amigos Foundation,
Citizens for Downey, Rise and Shine, Downey Chamber of Commerce,
Downey Art Museum, Downey Historical Society, etc. As always, God
first, then family, then job (activities). I have five wonderful
children and seven beautiful granddaughters. I spend with them all
the time they can spare for me. My husband, Floyd Stauffer, is an
outstanding athlete and will be inducted into the Swimming Hall of
Fame this summer at the World Games. I will be there to cheer. I
wish all success and happiness.
